Who We Help
Supporting People With HIV/AIDS
Proceeds we raise are donated to the AIDS Council of Northeastern NY to help meet emergency financial needs of their clients.
The AIDS Council serves over 1,200 clients and their families to help them obtain needed services. A client, however, may have an emergency, unplanned or special need that cannot be financially met elsewhere including food, housing or transportation costs.
The money we raise is used for these purposes and may make a big difference in a needy person's life. We target people living in poverty.
The money also enables the AIDS Council to provide special programs and activities that improve a clients' well being and quality of life.
Reaching Out to the Community
Our events generally reach many people. We display AIDS/HIV prevention and educational material at our events and information about services of the AIDS Council.
Our goals are to promote AIDS understanding and prevention and to increase support and compassion for People With HIV/AIDS.
We also promote community service in our activities.
AIDS Council: Dynamic Caring and Effective
The AIDS Council is a caring organization consisting of dedicated staff, volunteers, board members and clients--working together to meet the broad range of needs of a diverse group of clients and their loved ones and to promote AIDS awareness and prevention.
The AIDS Council provides direct programs that assist People With HIV/AIDS to maintain the best possible health and wellness such as individual counseling, support groups, transportation services, mental health services, emergency financial assistance, services to prison populations, and social gatherings.
The AIDS Council also provides innovative and non-threatening programs to all segments of the community-at-large to provide important information about HIV/AIDS and how to prevent it.
