We are All-Volunteer

HelpFightAIDS Through Books and Music is an all-volunteer project.

The project was initiated in 1993 by AIDS Council volunteer, Steve Kozlowski who continues to serve as coordinator.  A corps of dedicated volunteers keep it going. New members are always needed  Last year, over 100 volunteers donated over 3,000 hours of their time!

Here's how volunteers help:

  • Preparing and staffing community book/music sales.

  • Maintaining store locations at the Treasure Chest Thrift Store in Albany and Glenwood Manor Antique Center in Queensbury.

  • Running an on-line E-Bay book shop.

  • Selling Entertainment Books to personal networks or serving as a liaison to sponsoring stores.

  • Promoting our events by distributing fliers and through other efforts.

  • Helping to obtain needed donations of books, music and movies.
